• 2 plastic shower curtains - even if you are planning a tub birth, to protect your bed
• Fitted bed sheet that you don't mind possibly getting messy
• Regular set of sheets for sleeping on after the birth, and plenty of pillows.
• Baby Blankets & 2-3 Baby Hats
• Plastic or metal tub / bowl for catching the placenta
• Hydrogen Peroxide
• Flashlight with fresh batteries
• Plastic painters drop cloth, for going from tub to bed (optional)
• Bendable straws
• Kleenex, paper towels
• 4 one-gallon sized Ziplock bags
• 6-8 large towels, 6-8 small towels (kitchen-towel size), 12 washcloths
• Tucks - witch hazel wipes
• Baby wipes
• Heating pad - required, and a rice sock - if desired
• Ibuprofen (Motrin or Advil)
• Ample supply of juices and snacks for mom, coach, the midwives need caffeine (coffee or coke). Please provide enough food for substantial snacks and full meals.  The midwife and assistant may be there quite some time.   
• Ice for mom
• A place for midwives to lie down to rest if needed
• If planning  water birth: new garden hose (not collapsible) & pet store type fishnet  

MOST IMPORTANT - Hospital transfer bag. Please have a bag packed for yourself (nursing nightgown, slippers, toiletries, clothes to go home in) and baby clothes, in case we need to take you to the hospital. It is very difficult to gather these things at the last moment when everyone is under stress & in a hurry.
